Andrew's Rehab
There notes have not been updated for a while, mostly because we spent nine days in Berck. While in France, I tried out the local physiotherapy service. It is half the price of my local guy and only half as good at best...
In the meantime, I have been making some progress. I started at Berck only able to drink from a bottle if I held it by the base. I can now do drink it by holding it at the neck. Drinking from a cup with a handle is trickier - I was beginning to get the hang of that last night. If I am well warmed up, I can touch my left ear with my right fingers but I can't touch my right ear with my right fingers. A check with the UK Physio yesterday confirms a sligh improvement in bending and no worsening in straightening during the week away. I have recovered sufficient strength in my right arm to be able to do light tasks with it, which means that I can use it more, which in turn means that I can build up more strength. I still can't help much with packing kites away and although I try, I'm not much help on the kite field when things go wrong.
We spent a lot of time walking round the beach and Paris. I am concentrating on walking properly (which is more painful but better for the healing process), I can now walk down stairs properly (one foot per step, rather than bringing both feet together on every step). This is tricky but being able to do it at all means that I can improve on it.
The competition at overclockers this month is "Intricate", so I have entered a picture that I took of the dome in "Galeries Lafayette", Paris:
