Bedford International Kite Festival 2012

Bedford is a delightful town, with a lovely river running through the middle. The kite festival is in Russel park, just across the road from the river Ouse. It is probably the smallest site that we fly at and it is completely surrounded by trees, with fairground attractions and stalls all round the edge. The result of this is that rather than spread out, the flyers ended up working together to put on the best possible display in the space and wind available.

The result was "Tiger Day". The big tiger belongs to the Al-Farsi team. Then three of our cubs. Then an albino and another cub from Doug and Bryn.


Mid afternoon, we had the call to bring the kites down for a flypast by the Lancaster. A magnificant sight coming in low over the trees


The public were looking very smart for the Jubilee weekend.
