Crewe

Other folk in the office have been off on holiday to exotic places like Dubai and Barbados. By way of contrast, we booked a hotel in Crewe for the bank holiday weekend.

For our foreign guests, the only thing that crew is known for is it's big railway junction.

But we were planning to make the most of it. It was a comfortable hotel in a nice setting to use as a base for our travels:

Our first destination was Chester for some shopping.

Then we moved on towards Wales. And stopped at the waterfall in Dyserth.

Our photo competition theme this month is "Golden Hour", the first hour after dawn and the last hour before sunset. We continued to head West in search of a decent sunset. We ended up watching the sun go down over the Irish Sea from Marine Drive round the Gogarth peninsula near Llandudno.

For a change, we were out in the little red button.

So we enjoyed motoring through the Peak district.

On the Monday, we went to a vintage rally in Smallwood.

And finaly, on the way home, we stopped to play on the swings at Broadway Tower in the Cotswolds
